HAS is a family-run business that serves the needs of the San Fernando Valley and surrounding communities by adhering to an unyielding commitment to the hearing impaired. In fact, hearing loss is a very personal matter for the Lipin family and it’s what inspired HAS founder Martin Lipin to launch the company in 1962. Martin Lipin, who would experience his own hearing loss resulting from acoustic trauma received during his service in the Korean War, never forgot the challenges he had as a child communicating with his father who had suffered hearing loss due to Scarlet Fever. Consequently, he spent a lifetime looking for new products and solutions to improve communication with his own hearing-impaired father and in the process was able to share newly-emerging products and technology with patients.

Technology has brought great improvements and the evidence is in the improved satisfaction of our patients.”

“New developments in technology have allowed the leading hearing aid manufacturers to fit more and advanced circuitry in less space,” says Eugene Lipin. “Now, some hearing aids are so small and discreet that they fit within the patient’s ear or even within the ear canal. This is very appealing to younger, more active hearing aid users – especially Baby Boomers.”
